The dream for the North end of the Amtrak Station is a “sculpture garden”. Blackburn College and Community art enthusiasts will start the ideas flowing, winter of 2020.

Carlinville’s Historic City Square
The Carlinville square was ”spruced up” in June 2019 before the Rotary Ice Cream social. Later in the summer, weigelia, holly, grasses, day Lillie’s, Becky daisies, and iris were planted to replace plants damaged by the harsh winter.
Carlinville City Signs
The Carlinville Municipal sign area received a “spruce up” , summer, 2019. City Council Aldermen, Class of “68, Library Board and staff, Yowell’s, Tinders and Salske’s trimmed and prepared for the addition of pollinators in 2020.
Other Projects and our Bee City Volunteers
Master Gardeners, Tree City USA-Carlinville and the Billy Bates Memorial fund purchased and cared for a new Dogwood tree, May, 2019. Grant Walker is watering in this photo.
A Burr oak and a Chinkapin Oak were purchased at the Illinois National Plant society sale and were planted with Tree City USA Carlinville members and Carlinville Area Hospital employees. “Site stewards” cared for the trees over the summer and fall. -2019
Trees on the boulevard and foundation plants at the Library were trimmed, cut back to encourage new growth, summer 2019. More to come in 2020!
